Show care

The beauty of the world is that there are so many of us … of all different colors and shades, different sizes and looks, different experiences and different beliefs. We are all built from the same matter … which constitutes our bones and sinew. Yet we inflict unspeakable horrors on each others. Individually, collectively and systematically.

Generations of conditioning turns us into beings which puts us to shame. What drives this need for dominance? What insecurities are we try to cover by slamming someone else down?

The hurt and anger that spills onto the roads, parks and rooftops is heart wrenching. Daily experiences of racism by everyone of color bubbles up as lava waiting to flow burning everything down in its path.

Take a moment to reach out to anyone near you. Hold their hands. Listen to them. In silence. Listen to how they felt when opportunities were denied. Listen to how they felt when stares penetrates through your back. Listen to how they felt when large groups leaned out of the car windows screaming profanity. Listen to how they felt when they were repeatedly pulled over by police for just being on the roads doing their own things.

Its time we heal the world. Tend to the festering wounds with care. One at a time. Let us lead with commitment to make it a better place . Stand up, speak up. Find the love that comes from understanding another person.

Show care.

  1. Very nicely written – with lot of questions to reflect. How we have become such a society collectively is something for all of us to question ourselves
